South Street Shingle

Shingle Style Cottage

Davidson, North Carolina

A forgotten ’60s ranch reimagined into a Shingle Style Cottage. Renovations aren’t for the faint of heart. This creative and committed couple stayed true to the premise and dream of having a shingle-style cottage in the heart of Davidson. By peeling off the roof and adding a half-story nestled within bellcast curves and wood shingle gables we kept the scale just right, incorporating rich materiality, texture, and whimsy. They are delighted with the result.
